OAU Press - OAUPL
Obafemi Awolowo University Press Limited (OAUPL) which was formerly known as the University of Ife Press was established in 1968 as an arm of the University Registry which was to be responsible for the editorial functions of the university Senate through the Publications Committee. Its transformation into a full fetched book publishing company in 1977 was to make it run as a business outfit without jeopardizing its initial goal of promoting the academic value of the university.
Three years later (1980), OAUPL was constituted into a self-accounting entity as a private limited liability company wholly owned by and directly accountable to the University management. It however lost its autonomy as a self-accounting entity in 2008 when it became, like all other units, an organ of newly established Obafemi Awolowo University Investment Company Limited (OAUICL)
